Leverage

Basics

Was es bedeutet

Using borrowed money from your broker to control a larger position than your cash would allow. It multiplies both gains and losses.

Beispiel

With 10x leverage, $1,000 of your cash controls $10,000 of stock. A 5% price rise earns $500 (50% on your cash); a 10% drop wipes out your entire $1,000.

Der häufigste Anfängerfehler

Beginners treat leverage as "more money to trade with" -- it is actually borrowed money that amplifies BOTH gains and losses. 10x leverage on a 10% move against you wipes you out completely.
