Expense Ratio

Basics

무슨 뜻인가요

The annual fee an ETF or mutual fund charges to manage your money, expressed as a percentage of your total investment. Higher expense ratios reduce your net returns over time.

예시

An expense ratio of 0.10% means you pay $10 per year for every $10,000 you have invested in the fund. An ETF with 0.50% expense ratio costs 5x more.

초보자가 흔히 하는 실수

Beginners ignore expense ratios because "0.5% is small." Over 30 years, a 0.5% higher expense ratio can cost you tens of thousands of dollars in lost compounding returns. Always compare expense ratios when choosing between similar ETFs.
