ETF

Basics

Was es bedeutet

Exchange-Traded Fund: A type of investment fund that trades on a stock exchange, just like an individual stock. ETFs typically hold a basket of assets (stocks, bonds, commodities) and offer instant diversification at low cost.

Beispiel

VOO is an ETF that holds all 500 stocks in the S&P 500 Index, so you get exposure to the entire US large-cap market with a single investment.

Der häufigste Anfängerfehler

Beginners think "all ETFs are the same." ETFs can track completely different assets: stocks (VOO), bonds, commodities (GLD for gold), sectors, or international markets. Always check what an ETF holds before investing.
