Pennant
Technical Analysis
Qué significa
A short consolidation where price squeezes into a tiny triangle after a sharp move, like a small pennant on a pole. A break usually continues the prior trend.
Ejemplo
A stock surges from $50 to $60, then over three days makes lower highs ($60, $59.5, $59) and higher lows ($58, $58.5, $59), converging into a pennant. A break above $60 resumes the move.
Error común de principiantes
Beginners trade pennants in low-volume chop. A real pennant follows a sharp, high-volume move; without the pole, the pennant is meaningless.
