Glosario de trading

Tilt

Psychology

Qué significa

An emotional state where anger, frustration, or excitement makes you trade impulsively and abandon your plan. The term comes from poker.

Ejemplo

After two stop-outs in a row, you stop waiting for setups and start clicking buy on anything that moves. Three more losses later, you are down a week's profit in an hour.

Error común de principiantes

Beginners try to "trade through" tilt. It never works -- the only fix is to step away from the screen until the emotion is gone, even if that means closing the laptop for the day.
